A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"The food was delicious and the service was very friendly! Would highly recommend the Tuna Tartare and the Lobster Linguine. Would recommend anyone coming to Venice to book this place for a dinner."
"Super cute little restaurant right on Campo San Barnaba. The servers were very friendly and attentive. The food was great! The highlight for us was the Antipasto, we got seasonal soft shell crab (amazing!), and prosciutto with shaved Parmesan and pears….both incredible! We went around 6pm and were the only people in there, by the time we left at 8 it was happening! There was cute outside seating in the campo, but it was raining so we sat inside, which was also adorable! Hopefully we will have an opportunity to return."
"Fantastic food and excellent service. Would definitely recommend. We had the sea bass and tuna and it was delicious."
"Had a fabulous late dinner last night and finally found chichetti that we loved! No fishy taste and absolutely delicious!! We ordered 2 portions of the special seafood saute (2 pax min), but it could have easily fed 4 hungry adults! Service was warm and friendly. The 1/2 L of Amarone suggested by our Chinese server paired perfectly with our food. We also devoured the chocolate cake with pistachio cream. Highly recommend this quaint restaurant. We're trying to find a way to fit in another visit before we leave Venice!"
"A super friendly and welcoming atmosphere, where you instantly feel at ease. The waiters are kind, attentive, and always happy to share helpful tips about the food and even little insights about Venice, which makes the whole experience feel warm and personal. Food is amazing."
"If you are in Venice, I def recommend you to eat here!! They bring in fresh seafood, so we did not worry it wasn’t fresh at all, it was excellent quality. The pasta dishes were really authentic, I recommend the ravioli and lobster linguini, perfect flavour, not too salty not to blend. Overall great experience, friendly owners"
"Absolutely fantastic experience at Ristoteca Oniga in Venice. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm, intimate, and authentically Venetian."
"Such a beautiful osteria experience in Venice We had the most incredible gnocchi — soft, fresh, and perfectly cooked, with a rich flavor that felt truly homemade. Paired with a spectacular local wine recommended by the staff, the whole meal felt authentic and unforgettable. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, the service was welcoming, and every detail made us feel like we were experiencing real Venetian cuisine. One of those meals you wish you could relive again. If you’re in Venice and want a true Italian osteria experience with amazing food and local wine, this place is a must. Absolutely loved it."
